Welcome The Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program (BTNEP) is proud to present the swamp and marsh tours that participated in the Ecotourism Exchange. The tour operators were visited by BTNEP and attended a one-day training, which included sharing information about each tour and learning new and valuable information about the vanishing estuary from BTNEP staff. These tours are committed to sharing their newly-gained information with their visitors. | | The tour operators included in these pages will introduce you to the beauty of the wetland in their region. You will see the variety of wildlife, birds, animals, and plants which thrive there. In addition, tourists will learn about problems facing the wetlands of the Barataria Terrebonne Estuary System (BTES) and some of the solutions. | The diversities found within the BTES are evident by the music, food, and language of each locale. These operators desire to show you the best their little corner of the BTES has to offer. | At the end of your tour, if you desire more information regarding the BTES, your tour operator will be glad to help you with your requests. The BTNEP will continue to provide materials and information to these tour operators to help them in their quest to be true ambassadors of the estuary system and America's WETLAND. |
